I wrote a book review Vancouver-based Katrina Kwan's book, Knives, Seasoning, and a Dash of Love (Penguin Random House Canada, 2024). This novel explores a spicy workplace romance between a fiery celebrity chef, Alexander Chen, and his inexperienced new sous chef, Eden Monroe. Alexander, a talented but hot-tempered Chinese-American chef in the world of French haute cuisine, demands perfection, while Eden, who exaggerated her qualifications to land the job, struggles to keep up. Their past connection adds tension, as Eden remembers a kinder version of him from years ago. As they clash in the kitchen, their chemistry intensifies, leading to a sizzling romance filled with passion, secrets, and personal stakes.
